Underworld Adventures, offers some of New Zealand's most celebrated eco-adventures: from the passive eco-Rainforest Train Tour to the sublime Underworld Rafting & Charleston GlowWorm Cave Tour, or even perhaps the full on Adventure Caving. The repertoire of Underworld Adventures has something for all ages & abilities. Underworld Adventures is located alongside SH6 in Charleston partway between Westport & Punakaiki on the South Island's West Coast. Underworld Rafting Is our flagship activity & one for which we have developed an international reputation. We transport visitors on our narrow gauge "Rainforest Train" through primeval rain forest to explore a calcitic paradise of stalagmites & stalactites in one of NZ's largest caves. The cave system remains in its unmodified natural state & is an outstanding form cave to explore. In the lower levels of the cave we float through the most amazing Glow-worm displays. Our return to the train is by way of fun filled tubing down The Nile River rapids. - The experience is suitable for people who are confident in water & over 10 years old.- A minimum of 2 participants is required. NWA Ltd can take a maximum number of 40 with five guides at any one time.- Visitors should allow 4 hours for this soft adventure.The Charleston GlowWorm Cave Tour Is the dry version of the acclaimed "Underworld Rafting". Visitors journey by "Rainforest Train" in to the Nile River Canyon to explore the enormous Nile River Cave System.
