The Landing Caf offers a casual lakeside dining experience featuring the magnificent backdrop of Mt Tarawera towering above a beautiful sandy beach front. The Landing is the perfect location to share a gourmet pizza and creative cuisine accompanied by a great range of New Zealand wines, beers and refreshments from our Garden Bar.
The area where The Landing is situated is rich in early New Zealand history, being the original departure point during the 19th Century for journeys to the famous Pink and White Terraces. Within a short distance from The Landing you will find the Tarawera Orchard where you can view early traditional Maori rock paintings and is also a beautiful spot for weddings and functions.
At The Landing you will find a ticketing office for various activities in the area and a general store for everyday essentials. Take a stroll down one of the many short tracks to the Te Wairoa stream mouth, known for its great early morning winter fly-fishing.
